Check your code. Here is may example using UI dialog which work OK:

$('#basic-modal-content').dialog({autoOpen:false});

sorry, but if i change my block on your's – modal window doesn't open…nothing happens.I feel that i must read simplemodal api…..

Hello,

In order to work this you should include a jQuery UI js file with support of dialog.
