Using latest version 5.3.0 from github, when exporting to html, only labels are shown and no data. Grid is using dynamic data from xml and scroll is set to true.

Please advise,

Hello,

We can’t reproduce the problem. Here is example, where the only problem is the undefined in note field (which we have fixed in GitHub)

Click on the print – you will see column names are not taken from the colNames array and also print is blank

Hello Kris,

I think you have missed this important detail – The export to pdf, csv, xml, html is available only if the data is local – In your case the data is cumming from the server only and you are unable to make the desired export. More yuou can find in our documentation here

To do what you want maybe on button click you can reload the grid with option loadonce true make the export and set back the datatype parameter xml after the export. Do not forget to enclose the export function in setTimeout in order to give time the data to be loaded locally.

Hello Will,

I will try what you suggested – but it would be a better solution when data is not local – just to get the data and pass it as a parameter or better yet get the array data since it is already in the grid

var mydata = $('#mygrid').jqGrid('getGridParam','data');

Also,

I don’t have the label parameter in the colModel, but I have colNames – why is this not being used to name the columns when exported to html

Hello,

First of all thank you for finding the bug about the colNames problem. It is fixed now in GitHub.

About your recommendation – yes we can do this, but… the data from server is in pages and when we do this we will get only the current loaded page and not all the data – the purpose of the export is to export the whole data.

We think it is up to developer to do this and make the export as desired – it is not so much just 4 lines of code.

Hello Will,

Thank you, that makes sense.

Just another issue, when autoPrint is set to true, the behavior is different in different browsers

Chrome / Opera – first time print dialog comes, if you cancel – second time clicking on print does not bring up print dialog

Firefox – works correctly.

— This suggestion has helped with my particular issue. so close to getting non local data to export as a CSV. I’ll post final solution when done. Thank you, Will for the help.
