Are there any plans to fix the issue when getRowData returns a cell's html content while the cell is being edited?

Sorry, but it will be not corrected. In order to resolve your problem – there is a event aftersavefunc, where you can call getRowData to get the saved elements.

The problem I have is the user will typically edit a row, and not click on anything else inside the grid which saves the row.
Why not just call saveRow from your external function, before calling getRowData…

Make sure you're calling it with the correct id…
