Hello,
I am trying to use the tableToGrid method while having the colModel param in my options object.
Looks like your out of luck.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but it appears as though the help forums stackOverflow and others seem to have no answer for these questions.

Setting both colModel and colNames with tableToGrid seems to work in jqGrid
