What are some advantages / disadvantages of using a Sub grid versus using a new

jqGrid as a subgrid?

From my limited experience with jqGrid, I can think of several things – can

anyone confirm whether I'm correct with my assessments?

1) subGrid rows cannot be “selected” or edited?

2) There is no afterInsertRow or beforeInsertRow events for a SubGrid

3) Can subgrids be paginated?

What advantages do subgrids have?
