Hey guys

I have a situation where i need to click on a cell and have it open a sub grid based on the columnID and the rowkey.

is this possible?

ether that or can i have the on cell click add a blank row below the cell and have some input fields in there?

I like the subgrid idea better than input fields. However in using the sub grid i dont want to show the + symbol as it would be on cellselect.

I dont have any code to show just yet i just need to know if its possible and some hints. Ill post code once i get somewhere

Hello,

In principle is possible. I recommend you to us the build in Subgrid. Note that you can set any icon for the subgrid (the plus icon is by default).

You can put a custom details in the subgrid. See the demo here

thanks for that i used that demo to help me build the layout i wanted.

I also have these custom inputs feeding back into the hidden columns so that saving the data should be easy.

Only problem is that i cant figure out how to trigger the editurlpost.

Is there a way to make jqgrid think that i have used inline edit and trigger a post with all current data in the grid? I dont want to use a save button

Hello,

Current data in your inputs (if I understand right) or current data in grid?

You may want to use getRowData without any parameter in order to return the all current data in grid. If you have a inline inputs in the grid then you may need to use this example
