Does someone have an example of using inline editing to update a database and return the updated data to the grid?

I have been reading through the examples and although there is quite a bit of good information, I can't determine from the examples how to pass the changed values to the server and then update the grid with the new values. If someone has a simple example they could post, it would be helpful.

I looked at both the rowedex1 and rowedex4 examples and I can't see how the data in parsed by the server for update and how the new values populate the grid.
