Is it possible to put the url file in a subfolder?
Yes it's possible. I use it always !
url: 'folder/module.php',
You have probably one problem somewhere.
It is definitely possible to do that, just make sure the path is correct. The file will assume relative path, whereas if you want a root relative link, you will need to place a slash in front of it, e.g.
url:'/partytime.JSON.asp',
