The column names in the edit and add dialogs (using .gridnav which is wonderful) are too far to the left and part of the first letter of each word is not shown.

Did you see this behaviour in the demo? Do you have custom theme? Which version of jqGrid is used?

What is ui.all.css and what is jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css – I think you should not use the ui.all.css
