    I would also like to see examples of this in the documentatiaon. I have been using jqGrid now for the past two days and have looked through the documetaion already but have not spotted what I was looking for. Is it because its imcomplete or just un organised.

    The most effective way I have found is to use firebug with firefox. It looks all your requests sending and recieving and you can view the data return here. I have been using this to debug my data coming back.
