2. You should provide a info for the page, but instead it work without this setting.

One more thing, I always seem to get the same error in Firebug no matter what I do (this is in http://localhost:8888/jqGridPHP/js/jquery.jqGrid.min.js)

Well, it seems I have a better understanding now of how it should be configured and how to use the dot notation, but alas I am still not any further visa vis display of data.
