yes, i think u cann add a class to your ColModel.

when changing style of an cell, use setCell Method like this
jQuery(“#term-list”).setCell( 1, 2, '', {'background':'#FF6F6F'} );
i used 2 columns, first columns is editable second column contains the save-button. When in editmode and then hitting save button focus disappears but the textfield is still visible…….
