It was TOUGH but the answer was so simple!

After the unload I needed to reset my local variable:

                    try {<br />
$incidentGrid.jqGrid(&#039;GridUnload&#039;);<br />
<strong>                        $incidentGrid = $(&#039;#tblJqGrid&#039;);</strong><br />
}<br />
catch (e) {<br />
alert(e.message);<br />
}<br />

try {

$incidentGrid.jqGrid('GridUnload');

$incidentGrid = $('#tblJqGrid');

}

catch (e) {

alert(e.message);

}
