I have a situations where I call clearGridData(true) function to clear the grid and reset the footer. This works fine with small result sets. However, when my grid contains around 100+ records the call to clearGridData causes both IE & Firefox to throw their “long running script” error and ask if you'd like to continue running the script or stop it. I posted this in the help section hoping their is a workaround for it but I am thinking this may actually be a bug.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello,

Thanks for this. I will check this. It seems like jQuery remove (used when we clear the data) does not do the job.

Do you have any additional information for this case – like do you have attached event or something elese to the rows or cells?

Grid has approximately 20 columns in it. It's a read only grid so there is no inline editing or anything like that. Also there are no events attached to the rows. That's really all the extra info I have. If you need anything else let me know and I'll do my best to provide you what you need.

Upgraded from jQuery 1.4 to 1.4.2 and issue seems to have gone away.

I have also just had this problem calling clearGridData() in IE8 with about 240+ rows. Under 240 it seems to be ok.

jqGrid 3.7 and jQuery 1.4.2

Any ideas how I can fix this problem? Or if I am able to fix it at all?
