Did you have look at the page http://trirand.com/blog/jqgrid/jqgrid.html , and the demo located in the Loading Data => JSON Data.
Everything is quite nicely explain. With some time to dig and to build, you will have a nice way to populate your grid with JSON data.

At the end, as I want every summary row to be on the same color, I definitivly choose to modify the ui.jqgrid.css :
.ui-jqgrid tr.footrow td {
background-color:#37a0e6;
…
}

I have try to add the hints you gave me on my code. So let's assume that I want to make the background color of the first column of the sumarry row to the color #37a0e6. My grid is having the id : #IdMyGrid. Here is my script :
