    Thanks Tony. I figured it out this weekend. I have also been using firePHP in conjunction with Firebug to debug the modal AJAX stuff within the grid, they helped me see what was being posted.

    OK, did a little digging and found out it had to do with including these files:

    jqModal.css
    jqDnR.js
    jqModal.js

    Could you change the examples to make sure these are included?

    check out the path for the js folder in your jqgrid.js file. I was using the grid in a different directory and had the same error until I changed the path in the file (should be the third line)
