I'm using xml,

I'm using all of the default themes, none of them alternate.

Thanks Tony,

I upgraded to final 3.2, and both problems are a thing of the past now.

It must be new in this version, but the rows don't alternate background color anymore by default?

Thanks for the help, Tony.

But I wanted to have some other way than pressing the enter key to save the row and esc key to cancel.

Currently I have this written in ASP.Net 3.0 MVC + Linq to SQL DB.

Everything is working wonderfully.
