For the add mode you will need to use defaultValue event – see docs.

Please let me know if it is ok now.

The problem was not in recreateForm, but we miss calling the default_value immediate the element is created.

jqGrid currently does not support jQuery 1.9 – 2.0

1.9 – 2.0 versions of jQuery are major releases where IE 6,7,8 are no more supported and a lot of changed fuctionalitys is present

Thus we can not do this so quick.

Please consult what are the changes in the new 1.9 version.

You will have a lot of problems with other plugins including jQuery UI
