Hello,
I heve dificulties to understand your problem.

How look your grid configuration?
You can start reading documentation
There is a such grid event. Just find it.
This is possible. Just set the desired width of every column (default is 80), width of the grid
How is your grid builded. How is your select builded.
Do you have any simnple code which demostartes the problem?
If you use the commetrtial version of jqGrid, please post your problem here
If this is not the case then you will need to check your code for filtering and export.
Kind Regards
Do you have a simple code for the above mentioted problem?
It seems to me you are not read the newest blog post regarding 4.4.4 release. The 4.4.3 jqGrid is not compatible with jQuery 1.9.X.
Please, read the blog posts first.

Hello Oleg,
This good recommendation, but I do not see a needed place where we can do this.
look here and here
You can use the beforeInitData event. Returning false does not lunch the form.
Please look here
Thanks. Fixed in GitHub

A simple test case is greatly appreciated.
