Glad to hear that jqGrid is so fast.
Maybe you will need to use the formatter showLink.

Please be a sure that you copy the language file on the right place and you load them. You can see this in firebug

So what does not work?
By the way you have error calling this:
$('#scrolling”).jqGrid('filterToolbar');
maybe it should be
$(“#scrolling”).jqGrid('filterToolbar');
I think this is possible. Just look in the documentation what content is created in this case.
I have fixed this in 3.6RC – could you please try it.
It is planed for 3.7 release which is expected February 2010.
You can test this in the 3.6RC. Also available for download from blog post

It is a 3.4 version. Curently I can not look into the code to tell you where is the proble. Will do it in the next days.
