Note the if you define them below the groups tag, the xmlReader should cnow this.

But for me it is much easy to define a field password in colModel. The field should not be filled with data and will be shown in add form only

I suppose no. We do not support jQuery UI dialog. Also if the jqModal is not used we cover only the grid using a CSS from jQuery UI.
