Hello,
How do you determine that it is not correct? (in FireFox it always say POST. You should determine this server side)
I have perform a lot of test and it works perfect.
Please note the following in jQuery documentation
typeString
The type of request to make (“POST” or “GET”), default is “GET”. Note: Other HTTP request methods, such as PUT and DELETE, can also be used here, but they are not supported by all browsers.
as described here:
http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax/
Regards
Tony
P.S. Are you using jqGrid PHP component here?
Also in order to test just replace PUT with GET in order to determine that it works correct!
Hello,
I have fixed the problem (I hope)
https://github.com/tonytomov/jqGrid/commit/8cddf70ef3a34202ce0b92fb09a2e773fbb28255
Could you please try it and let me know of the result.
Thank you
Tony
Hello,
Please check your php code.
You do not have any logic for serach.
Serch does not work if there is no logic in your server side code.
Please post only problems related with the grid and not with PHP.

Hello,
I can not confirm that this is a bug.
We testted with text like yours and it works as expected.
On order to confirm this please post a link to the problem or
post a simple test case including grid configuration and response data.
Another thing – did you set DOCTYPE declaration in html?
Oleg,
Thanks. Will look at this at end of week.
Tony
Hello Mike,
Thank you for the interest.
As you can imagine jqGrid can not cover all the things in ExtJS and vice versa.
I thing the grids should have diffrent approaches for solving certain problems.
The grids should be different.
Instead tey should have common properties.
Shortley here are may answers if I understand them right
And you can look for the most features in jqGrid here:
http://trirand.com/blog/jqgrid/jqgrid.html
1. Yes
