    I have found the problem.

    This in in jqGrid 4.5.4

    What was confusing was that demos pages showing e.g. features new to 3.7 had this in, but the page is obviously using the most up to date grid.

    I am using jqGrid 4.5.2, and have links to the relevant css and js files

    When I view the page source – the td with class=”ui-search-clear” has not been added.

    Just looking at my css files and can't find a reference to the class!

    Maybe I have wrong version somehow!
