I’m running into some issues using the search features. A bit of background.
Some of the columns we have changed the index property to a different property in the data in order to control the sorting. This allows us to add a key to each row and sort by that rather than alphabetically in the column itself.
The issue we have is when we search, it’s searching on the data that’s in the data property defined in the index rather than in the name. In this situation, it means the user can not search for any of the values that are visible in the column. Is this intended, and is there a work around?
Before expose why is this and explain it, we like to show us a example code and data if possible. It is not clear if the data is local or not and some other things that are important for us and you have not mentioned.
So my proposal is to make a demo which demonstrates the problem and make a description of actions which cause the problem. I hope you understand our point and we can this way easy solve the problem.
By default sorting and searching are done by index property in colModel. To resolve fully this situation is is needed to define additional properties like sortname and searchname in colModel, but I agree, that in case of local searching and sorting search and sort should be by name which is defined in the data. We will try to resolve this conflict in the next release.
